Sooooo satisfying to cross a project off my endless pre-wedding list. I swear that it grows in the night while I'm sleeping.
I took the real DIY route, skipped the letterpress, and went into a gocco-ing frenzy yesterday. These coasters are just the first project.
TAH-DAH!
The coasters themselves weren't the best paper stock for gocco... a wee bit too porous so the ink ended up looking a little bleedy. But I think they will be just fine. Yes, 250 coasters later, they will be perfect. I'm thinking of maybe putting one on each plate to dress up the initial table setting. And then the extras will be strewn about the bar area.

They look great! Congrats on being done!
They look great! Was it hard to line up the edges just right? Did you make the file in Illustrator first? Any chance you want to share the template? (Just for the outer circles...) Thanks for sharing - great DIY project!
These are fabulous! What font did you use for your names? They look like it took a ton of work to do all 250, but they are going to make a huge impact. I love the idea of using them at the table settings, too!
I love these so much... they've made it onto my blog as well! Hope you don't mind the extra attention, but they are fabulous!
Love this! I really like that script too.
thanks everyone!
jlsimon56- lining up the edges definitely takes some forethought. you have to have a template so you know exactly where to place each coaster. mine are not perfect, but they are good enough! as far as the actual template, it's just a circle i made in illustrator and it would be different depending on the size of the coasters you'd be printing.
cyd- it's not a font! it's Jenna's amazing calligraphy

i used the same for our invites
bailee's bride - thanks for the shout out!
You are amazing Pis. This stuff should really go in an exhibit when you are all done. You really do have super powers.
The amount of detail you are putting into all this is just ridiculous... and so, SO beautiful! I'm glad I get to see it all in action in less than a month. :)
I love the coasters-- they're so sophisticated looking! AND I'm getting married on the same day! Yippee! :o)
All I can say is...AMAZING! Everything you touch seems to turn out absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to see what else you have in store for us!!
These look great....!
absolutely perfect! Do you mind if I re-post these?! They turned out gorgeous!
They turned out WONDERFUL!! Kudos to you!!! The caligraphy is awesome!!
I came back here to tell you about a fab idea I saw somewhere online today about using gocco'ed coasters like these - poke a hole and string them up, and they can hang on rearview mirrors.
This is still one of my all-time fav DIY projects.
I love all the creative things you have done! Thanks for all the ideas! Do you mind sharing where you bought the coasters?
