Banana chocolate walnut cinnamon sugar crumble bread makes things better

Things like recovering from childbirth and getting over the trauma of your son's circumcision (the second being much more intense, if you ask me). Yikes. I am going to sit on the couch and eat pieces of warm sweet cakey bread all afternoon. I polished off the chocolate chip cookies from our neighbors last night.

A combo of two of Molly's recipes. Plus chocolate, because I wanted it all in one loaf.

wow - was a fan of your website until I read that you circumcised your son. Why on earth would you inflict your prejudices and personal preferences on your helpless child? Have you not informed yourself with all the LATEST evidenced based research out there? Thought you were an intelligent, well informed, loving mama. Got that one very wrong. Shame on you. S0 disappointed :(

anonymous - shame on YOU! what a terrible comment to leave for a new mom who is making decisions based on what she has determined to be the best thing for her son. Kristina - you ARE an intelligent, well informed & loving mama and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!! i'm sure you didn't mean for this to turn into a debate on the circumcision question! xoxo

Kristina - Thanks so much for all that you share with us on your blog. I'm always inspired by the beauty, style, insights and creativity that you bring to your posts. Negative comments have no place here in my opinion.

Oh honestly. Don't you just love how all the disrespectful comments are always anonymous. Now that is what is disappointing.

Congratulations on your beautiful boy and all the decisions you have made and will make as his all loving Mama.

P.S. Gorgeous belly shots from previous post!!

i know it's not your style to delve into political, touchy personal issues like circumcision on this blog- but, if you would, i'm curious to your reasons and decisions to circumcise your son. I'm wrestling with this decisions myself, and would like to hear from others.
thanks for sharing, and as always, i very much appreciate your contributions to the internet world!

I just wanted to say that I think that you're amazing for still having the time, strength and energy to still blog after you just had a baby! Bravo to you. And although I don't have child, I don't see what the big deal is with circumcision? I always thought it was a given.

Wow how wonderful, your baby boy! Enjoy that delicious looking cake. And to the anonymous disrespectful comment, honestly shame on you. First of all, it is HER child, she had the complete RIGHT to do as she wishes with her child. It is not her inflicting her personal preferences, it is her choosing what she believes is right and good for her baby. She is intelligent, well informed and loving. But I have to say that I'm not so sure about you. Do what you want with your own children, and keep your personal opinion to yourself. Especially if you can't show your name and do it with respect. Coward.

Anonymous, really? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. You probably expect the opportunity to express your own beliefs, opinions and choices and not be negatively judged for them; please give Kristina the same respect. Open up a little and see that there is not just one way to be, not just one choice for everyone, and that what is right for you (for your own respected reasons) is not neccessarily the right choice for any other person. We are all so unique. Let's try to be kind to each other!

Kristina ~ Sending healing thoughts your way, and that bread looks delicious; chocolate chips are a magical addition to any baking! I loved those pics of you with your belly, and your "hoodie and ponytail!" :)

I love your blog Kristina and am glad you are still finding time to post! Congratulations on the new arrival!

Anonymous - I think the only one who can be deemed un-intelligent is you. What an awful and ignorant way to impose your opinions and beliefs on someone else.

Belated follow up here, but thank you all for you nice comments and support. Don't worry, I couldn't care less what one random internet person thinks about my parenting decisions. :)

As for the question as to why we decided to circumcise... debated whether or not to answer that question since I think this, and every single decision you make as a parent, is a personal family choice.

But the short answer is that my husband's family is Jewish, and it's a tradition that he wanted to honor.

Now, back to cute baby pictures and chocolate things.

Somehow missed this post the first time round and just found it on my google reader today.

I fully support every parents right to choice as long as the choice is in the best interests of the child. The part I found the most interesting was the comment above which was

"And although I don't have child, I don't see what the big deal is with circumcision? I always thought it was a given."

Something which I find endlessly fascinating is the cultural differences that blogging raises. Here in the UK I think that non-circumcision is the norm (although perhaps not in Jewish communities). {although no doubt a load of UK readers will prove me wrong!}

Glad that everything is going well for you. Very much enjoying reading your posts about parenting. As well as the crafting and baking.

The banana have many properties like the potassium and some vitamin too. that is why i prefer to use the bananas frequently in my recipe. and i love the flavour too. Even power the tissues, muscles and bones that can help with the sexual performance too.
