Our finished escort cards

YAY. We just got our cute little cards back from Jenna, and as always they look so great.

(couldn't get a great photo of them before I put them away)

Luckily, I haven't stamped the actual table numbers on yet because the hotel sent us an email yesterday with some, shall we say, potentially frustrating news. Apparently they've had problems with noise over the last few weekends and they want to go over our table diagram (that I slaved over, thank you) and figure out the best layout for the band vs the tables. HI. Our wedding is in 5 days. If you change sh*t around on me at this point, I'm going to scratch your eyes out.

Those are so great. Why are you so damn talented, woman?

Want to do my NYE invitations?

These turned out beautiful...but of course I'm not surprised. Everything you create is lovely! I can't believe it is this weekend...

No kidding! Like you need any additional stress this close to the wedding...good luck, I know it`ll all work out.

I get a little jealous every time you post one of your Jenna Hein pieces - I love them!

Wow, they're so beautiful!

And what a pain with your venue, I hope that they don't mess you around too much.

I'll just have to have another party and get your help!

I'm having Suann from SimpleSong do them and they're going to be fantastic. We're hoping to work with Jenna, but she's hard to get a hold of because she's so busy, etc. I have my fingers crossed!

I did wonder where you found your stamps for the invites though. I'm in the market for some for the NYE invites. Also, how did you do the return address on your black envelopes? I'm having a hard time imagining how that's going to work on mine.

Have a wonderful time this weekend and on your honeymoon!!!

hi kate!

our stamps came from a local stamp and coin shop in santa monica. If you can think of one in your neighborhood, that's a great way to go. You can ask if they have a "face value" vintage stamp collection. Which is KEY. because it means you pay exactly what they're worth. I saw soooo many of the ones i used on ebay going for 10 times their value.

and the black envelopes... I just did a blind emboss on the back flap for our return address. we didn't get any back, so it's hard to say if it was acceptable! another thing you could do is letter press with either clear varnish (so the address shines a little) or use blank ink on the black envelopes. our envelopes came from paper source and they are not a really dark black so it seems like the black ink would have worked nicely.

good luck with your planning!

My sad but true event planner past tells me that you often have to re-arrange seating at the last minute, and the best thing to do is just role with it. Errr... except your lovely escort cards might make it harder! Ah!

If you must, you can always just stick to your guns. It will probably be a bit of a compromise, since the venue will tell you something like "we want to move the tables like such, because we've found it greatly increases flow to the food stations and dance floor." In the end, you can probably just say "Ehhh, Eff the flow. I have the escort cards done!" And, you know, whatever! It all will work out. Just, no matter what you do, stop thinking about the seating arrangments 24 hours before the wedding. I've cried over having to reseat 350 people 1 hour before a event. That's sucky anytime, but unacceptable for your wedding.

Beautiful! If i was a guest, I would totally save that :) And good luck with the re-arranging, makes me cringe just hearing it!
